Mag-Trap

What is the Mag-Trap?
The Mag-Trap, is an extremely efficient downhole magnet which is
used to remove metal contaminants from fluids downhole, run on
either jointed pipe or coiled tubing operations.

How does it work?
Using magnetic technology, after entering the rotary the Mag-Trap
continually extracts Ferrous Metal Contaminants from Well Fluids until
it is removed from the hole. The Mag-Trap is Versatile and Suitable
for many different applications.

What benefits will it bring?
Helps to achieve and maintain a Clean Fluid Environment, with all the
associated benefits to both surface and downhole equipment,
production rates, etc.

Possible Applications
Below are some possible aplications for the Mag-Trap:

• Used in conjunction with watermelon mills and reamers
• Used in tandem (6) to recover perforation debris
• Used in the recovery of control line clamps
• Have recovered plastic coated injection lines
• Used to surge conventional and sub sea BOPE
• Used to wash over perforating guns
• Used in tubing and drill pipe milling operations
• Run with and after section milling operations
• Run with equipment prior to liner hanging operations
• Used in place of surge equipment
• Used in coiled tubing operations (1 11/16” OD Mag-Traps)
• Used in whip stock operations
• Used for horizontal applications
• Effective where returns cannot be achieved
• Run in the hole prior to running production equipment
• Run with perforating guns
• Run with bit, scrapers, and brush tools
• Run with packer milling equipment
• Run in conjunction with milling and/or drilling CIBP
• Run above liners due to loss of annular velocity rates
• Run with short catch overshots to retrieve packer plugs
• Used with stinger assemblies to wash through GP settings
• Used in milling of chrome tubing
• Run with reverse circulating junk baskets to recover bearings and rings
• Used in cement milling/drilling operations when drilling out float equipments
• Run with packer plug retrieving tools
• Used in milling/drilling cement retainers
• Run in hole on E/L prior to logging operations (remove well filings)
• Run with wash pipe to wash over screen and liners
• Used in any junk milling operationsM
• Alongside the Stacey Ditch Magnet
