Design and Testing

The Stacey Rotating Control Diverter Head™ is designed and tested per API6-A for RAM type BOPS (note - Diverter and Rotating Heads are not currently covered by any API specification)

The design criteria includes:

  • Design of Components per API 16-A Section 4.4
  • Documentation of Design as per API 16-A Section 4.6
  • Operational Characteristics Tests per API 16-A section 4.7 (where applicable)
  • Quality Control Records retained per API 16-A section 7.6


Documentation

  • Data book, including traceability, Test Certificates, Test Charts, per DNV
  • Full installation and operational instructions, including stud bolt torque figures supplied with each package
  • Spare Parts requirements


Materials

  • Materials comply with API 16-A-Section 5
  • All Flanges are API with full material traceability
  • Stacey Rotating Control Diverter Head™ is manufactured to a consistent standard

Listed pressure ratings are determined through extensive controlled manufacturing plant testing procedures at Stacey Oil Tools Test fixture. Stacey Oil Tools Ltd makes no warranty either expressed or implied on the pressure ratings due to the uncontrolled environment of a drilling operation.

  • A Rotating Control Diverter Head is not a Blowout Preventer and must not be used as such.
  • API recognises the Rotating Control Diverter Head as a Diverter.
  • Full 24 hour trouble-shooting / technical back-up is available from our offices in the USA and UK
